When I left Wesley College I was a sergeant
in the cadets. For my first summer vacation at Melbourne University
I was a private in the National Service, and I shared, with about
a dozen others, a clean, tin hut addressed as BD3. It
was there that I met this medical student, Allan with two 'l's.
We have been firm friends ever since.
Allan is now a distinguished child psychiatrist, expert film enthusiast,
and a polite bridge master. Since student days Allan has devoted
much time and effort to the St John Ambulance Service and in the mid 1990's
rose to the rank of Commissioner for the State of Victoria. |
